Slesers hopes that For A Good Latvia will be very successful in the 10th Saeima elections, and that it will be the one to decide the makeup of the government to come. The minister said that portfolios are only awarded to those who are capable and willing to defend the national interests of Latvia.

Slesers said that the next foreign minister and all Latvian ambassadors abroad should commit the majority of their time supporting Latvian businessmen’s interests in the world.

Andris Skele is named finance minister by For A Good Latvia, stated that Latvia must win its economic independence, as “if we are forced to bear the burden of debts for many years, no national progress will be feasible.”

Ainars Slesers Skele and For A Good Latvia board member Andrejs Ekis have praised Slesers. They have said that Slesers proved that ordinary Riga boys can become successful businessmen, make lots of money, and even become wealthy. Ainārs Šlesers Slesers’s theories are always enthralling. Ekis said Slesers as an “businessman who has wandered into politics,” and then went on to declare, “I wish there was an official in Latvia that could give me a sense of pride.”

Slesers also stated that the best way to complete a mission is to utilize your body. The government currently in power, headed by Valdis Dimbrovskis, (New Era), “is trying sedate the nation by telling people that everything will be okay.” But it’s not safe to live on credit as the borrowed funds is due to be returned earlier than expected.

Slesers had harsh words for the candidates from other parties who are seeking to become the prime minister. Roberts Zile (For Freedom and Fatherland/LNNK). He’s stuck in a rut Brussels and doesn’t want to get up and leave the European Parliament to become premier of Latvia. Slesers explained that he will have to put in more effort and earn a smaller salary.

The Union of Greens and Farmers’ candidate, Aivars Lembergs is in the same situation and would hardly want to change his comfortable life in Ventspils to take on the duties as a leader in Riga.

Slesers stated that For A Good Latvia is available to work with Janis Urbanovics Harmony Center. Urbanovics does have many years of experience working in the parliament but he has not had sufficient business experience.

And lastly, Dombrovskis will be voted for by only those who have a positive view of the “international financial occupation of Latvia.” Slesers, on the other hand will help people make money, gain access to international markets and live their lives with dignity. He said Guntis Ulmanis will be his first assistant in the administration of the state and Ulmanis will be the one Slesers will seek advice from.

Slesers added that For A Good Latvia would see Biblical Studies be included in all schools starting September 1, 2012.

After the meeting, For A Good Latvia representatives were part of the laying of flowers at Freedom Monument.
